Sift Bridges Connection Between Teams

By

Remote workforces that became the norm during the pandemic – and now, along with hybrid models – are mainstay in the modern business.  But, it may have created a disparity between employees in many cases.  Employees find it hard to figure out how they and other coworkers fit together. Buffer, in its 2022 State of Remote Work report revealed more than half of employees feel disconnected since shifting to remote work.

The modern people directory focused on humanizing and connecting enterprise organizations, Sift, works to bridge that connection and allow employees to learn more about each other, ultimately eliminating the disparity between workers and work groups. To that end, Sift released an update to its Microsoft Teams app, Sift for Teams V2.1. This will allow meeting attendees to learn more about the people they are meeting with, such as their skills, project teams, interests, work location and name pronunciation.

"The Sift app for Teams is helping organizations bridge silos and allow their employees to forge authentic connections,” said Niranjan Deo, senior director, Teams and M365 Platform. “This app update makes it even more seamless by allowing meeting attendees to learn more about each other directly in the meeting window."

Sift's integration within the Microsoft Teams environment offers capabilities that will allow users to view attendees' profiles in online meetings and perform people searches through the Teams search bar or message box. Other capabilities include sharing profiles or searches via Teams Chat, visualizing and navigating an enterprise org chart, integrating directly with multiple HR and IT data systems and syncing directory information from Azure Active Directory with a standardized API.

"We are thrilled to collaborate with Microsoft to further humanize the workplace and accelerate both employee productivity and engagement in Microsoft Teams," said Ryan Bickham, vice president, product engineering at Sift. "This update incorporates Sift further into the flow of work for Teams users, complementing our long-standing focus on the employee experience."

The updated Sift Teams application, available on Microsoft AppSource, will bring valuable people insights directly into Teams video meetings.
