People are driven by relationships. They want to do things in groups. They want to spend more time and more money just to be able to do things with other people. This is how they are able to share and learn from each other.
In today’s remote work environment, it can be challenging to place people in a remote work setting when they have not done it before. Those who are not used to being disconnected can experience frustration.
Technology needs to allow people to have the human connection they want, according to Elizabeth Bieniek, Cisco’s internal startup found and co-founder of Webex Hologram.
“I focus on disruptive innovation,” said Bieniek, during her keynote presentation at ITEXPO 2022. “I look at the world around us and see what is changing and how do we react to build things to disrupt the tech processes today to make it better.”
Cisco’s Webex Hologram enables people to feel closer to the person they are connecting with – almost as though they are physically together in the same space. They will be able to interact with them as they would if they were standing face to face. They can even interact with the same virtual objects while being thousands of miles away.
“We wanted to get to that feeling of being together, the essence of being together,” said Bieniek. “When it comes to really feeling together, we need something more. With Webex Hologram, we are barely scratching the surface on what we can do with this.”
