NetDragon Appoints Humanoid Robot as CEO

By

AI technology continues to be embraced as an effective tool in the workforce. Through machine learning processing, AI is now at the point to where it fully interacts and communicates with humans. But did one ever think of AI potentially taking on CEO duties? Well, Chinese mobile and online gaming company NetDragon did just that.

In an industry first, NetDragon named Ms. Tang Yu, an AI-powered virtual humanoid robot, as the rotating CEO of its flagship subsidiary, Fujian NetDragon Websoft.

The “appointment” is a move to use AI to transform corporate management and boost operational efficiency to a higher level. Tang Yu's appointment is a highlight of the company's AI and management strategy and represents a company milestone of being a metaverse organization and is the first step in merging the metaverse with the physical workplace.

"We believe AI is the future of corporate management, and our appointment of Ms. Tang Yu represents our commitment to truly embrace the use of AI to transform the way we operate our business and ultimately drive our future strategic growth,” said Dejian Liu, chairman of NetDragon.

Tang Yu’s CEO duties include streamlining process flow, enhancing work tasks quality and improving execution speed. The AI-powered CEO will also serve as a real-time data hub and analytical tool. Ultimately, this will support rational decision-making in daily operations and enable a more effective risk management system.

Additionally, Tang Yu will help the company find and develop talented employees and ensure a fair and efficient workplace for its employees.

“We will continue to expand on our algorithms behind Tang Yu to build an interactive and highly transparent management model as we gradually transform to a metaverse-based working community, which will put us in a position to achieve bigger goals," said Liu.
