Video meetings can be a struggle in hybrid environments, with part of the team in the conference room and the remainder joining remotely. The remote workers often lose that feeling of actually meeting in person, to no fault of their own of course. At times, it’s due to the technology simply not being up to par to fully immerse them in a video conference.
A device that will clearly capture the conference room, only capture the speaker’s voice through the microphone and even zoom in on faces to capture facial expressions is ideal for remote workers. Maybe asking this in an all-in-one device is asking too much. However, Yamaha is looking to do just that with its CS-800 and CS-500 video collaboration systems.
The systems will enable on-demand video conferencing for various workspaces and provide a frictionless calling experience by collecting sound and automatically adjusting the video and audio according to each setting.
CS-800 is an all-in-one system that integrates a microphone, speaker, camera and video output required for remote conference into one device. The CS-500 includes the microphone, camera and video output while utilizing the speaker of the connected display.
For video, the built-in 4K camera on the systems provide a clear visual to the other party of online meetings and tracks the faces of meeting participants analyzed by AI. The two systems utilize a wide-angle lens with a viewing angle of 120 degrees to capture meeting participants in the camera frame.
In the past, it’s been difficult to capture facial expressions. With Smart Framing, the CS-800 and CS-500 detect participants’ locations, which are determined by the microphone, to capture and zoom in on the appropriate speakers that should be shown to the participants on the other end of the online meeting.
As for the audio side, the CS-800 and CS-500 systems combine Yamaha's audio processing technology to automatically recognize the conference space and participants with the SoundCap Eye and find the voice of speakers with the Hexa-Microphone.
The SoundCap Eye utilizes the high-accuracy positioning information from the camera to capture only the voice of the speakers. The Hexa-Microphone utilizes beamforming to capture the voice and provide a clear signal even in noisy environments. Together, users will experience high-quality online collaboration without having to consider the environments at various spaces in the office.
Additionally, the CS-800 and CS-500 systems passed Zoom’s comprehensive testing and are certified as Zoom Rooms hardware devices, confirming a reliable and seamless collaboration experience for users.
With the CS-800 and CS-500, Yamaha is integrating the camera and audio with innovative technology, to provide a true communication experience in online meetings.
