VMware Lowers IT Management Burden

By

Employees use more devices and applications across more clouds while working from just about anywhere today. It all adds up to a massive burden on IT teams. To take some of that burden off of IT’s shoulders, VMware’s Anywhere Workspace is designed to deliver better employee experiences through security and workspace automation using unified endpoint management, VDI and DaaS, digital employee experience and workspace security.

Basically, it’s everything needed for a secure, productive work anywhere world, and comes with the additional benefit of easing the management burden for IT teams. That, in turn, improves IT productivity through automation, allowing them to focus on and accomplish other tasks.

DEX (Digital Employee Experience) is being prioritized by companies that want to maintain employee engagement in a hybrid work environment. That prompted VMware to broaden its own DEX solution coverage to support Digital Employee Experience Management for third-party managed Windows devices. The update allows VMware to offer a holistic DEX solution spanning delivery, measurement, analysis and remediation by supporting multiple endpoint use cases and operating systems.

Essentially, with VMware’s DEX solution in place, organizations seamlessly manage the digital workspace experience for multiple endpoints and ease the transition to modern management by communicating with all employees, and saving IT time and money.

VMware also extended IT systems with Workspace ONE Freestyle Orchestrator, a modern no-code/low-code orchestration framework designed to help IT teams automate complex and manual configuration tasks. New updates enable automation beyond device-based task-specific workflows within Workspace ONE to context-driven ticketing workflows that span third party IT systems. IT also benefits from intelligent, proactive ticketing.

Additionally, with VDI and DaaS solutions being essential assets to remote and hybrid work, VMware extended its Horizon Cloud next-gen to hybrid deployment. Horizon 8 customers using new Horizon SaaS subscriptions use their on-premises and cloud deployments to connect to Horizon Cloud next-gen, enabling a hybrid cloud experience.

Customers now have the flexibility of deploying virtual desktops and apps in Microsoft Azure with an option to also run Horizon 8 on-premises or in the cloud. With a hybrid-cloud approach, IT further broadens the scope of use cases their VDI and DaaS environments can cover, including HA/DR and cloud bursting.

The next-gen of Horizon Cloud for Horizon Cloud on Microsoft Azure also released, which received Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program High Authorization. The next-gen platform uses a thin-edge architecture that helps reduce infrastructure costs by 70%, while increasing scalability by 150%.

“To develop a successful hybrid working model, organizations need to automate how they deliver, manage and better secure hybrid workstyles,” said Shankar Iyer, senior vice president and general manager, End-User Computing, VMware. “The enhancements to VMware Anywhere Workspace bring us one step closer to VMware’s vision of delivering autonomous workspaces.”

The enhancements push VMware a step closer to realizing its autonomous workspaces vision, which VMware called the next evolution of managing digital workspaces as it injects data science and automation across endpoint management, security and end-user experiences.
