Vodafone and RingCentral Power Hybrid Work Collaboration

By

The idea of “Hey, hybrid work actually works well!” was accelerated over the past few years; mostly because of the COVID-19 pandemic. One thing that organization leaders worried about when making the switch, however, was how their employees would continue to collaborate with each other. So, to ensure a smooth transition and foster effective collaboration, companies turned to cloud communications as a central pillar for their strategies.

Cloud communications (which leverage the power of the internet and cloud-based platforms) provide a secure and scalable infrastructure, enabling employees to collaborate seamlessly regardless of their location. These communication solutions encompass a wide range of services, including messaging, video conferencing, document sharing and real-time collaboration tools.

Even today, workforces worldwide continue to embrace cloud communications, recognizing the potential for enhanced productivity, the facilitation of better teamwork, and how strong connections within organizations can be maintained.

This isn't solely a U.S. thing, either; Portuguese workforces, for example are no different. That is why Vodafone Portugal and RingCentral have brought forth their One Net TeamCollaboration with RingCentral, an integrated communications solution that brings together RingCentral’s messaging and video collaboration capabilities with Vodafone’s existing fixed and mobile voice communications functionality to the Portuguese market.

RingCentral is a cloud-based communication and collaboration platform that provides businesses with a comprehensive suite of communication tools and services. The core offering of RingCentral revolves around its UCaaS platform. This enables businesses to streamline their communication infrastructure by replacing traditional on-premises phone systems with cloud-based solutions. This cloud-centric approach eliminates the need for costly hardware and offers greater scalability, flexibility and mobility.

Key features of RingCentral's platform include voice and video calling, team messaging, online meetings and conferencing, SMS and fax capabilities, and integration with popular business applications. These features are accessible through various devices, including desktops, laptops, smartphones and tablets, allowing users to communicate and collaborate seamlessly from anywhere with an internet connection.

“Now, more than ever, businesses need flexibility and reliability in the way they operate,” said Yves Desmet, Senior Vice President of International Service Providers, RingCentral. “Our mission at RingCentral is to simplify communications and help customers become more efficient, agile, and future-ready.”

These capabilities from RingCentral work with the existing robust communications services of Vodafone One Net. These include voice calling, video conferencing, call handling, logging and recording, IVR, instant messaging, presence status and file sharing. Employees communicate and collaborate in real-time, enabling efficient information exchange, decision-making and teamwork.

All in all, the solution provides Portuguese businesses of all sizes (especially SMBs) an agile, affordable, cloud-based offering for better collaboration and communication among their employees, customers and suppliers.

“Portuguese companies will be among the first in Europe to experience the advantages of this differentiating platform, which is a real step forward in their relationship with customers and employees,” said Henrique Fonseca, Vodafone Portugal's Business Unit Director. “The solution will accelerate their productivity with maximum agility and reliability.”
