Egnyte and Microsoft Reinforce Commitment to Hybrid Work with Collaboration Upgrades

By

The success of hybrid and remote work models hinges upon companies' abilities to equip their employees with robust collaboration and productivity tools. These tools, then, serve as the keystone for effective communication, project management and task coordination across dispersed teams.

Whether it's through video conferencing platforms that enable seamless virtual meetings, cloud-based document sharing for real-time collaboration, or project management software that ensures task visibility, these tools not only enhance productivity but simultaneously foster a sense of connectedness and engagement among remote and on-site employees alike.

Embracing these technological solutions is imperative for businesses aiming to thrive in the modern workplace, where flexibility and efficient remote collaboration are paramount to success. Egnyte, the secure platform for content collaboration and governance, has a mission to help increase overall productivity and collaboration by helping their customers work where they are most comfortable with the tools they use.

That mission is now closer to becoming a reality thanks to Egnyte strengthening its relationship with Microsoft to provide customers with additional real-time document collaboration and sharing features through Microsoft 365 and a Microsoft Teams integration that makes it easy for customers to share and upload files directly within Teams while also providing the ability to upload directly into Egnyte.

The real-time document collaboration function and Teams integration offer substantial benefits to organizations seeking to enhance flexibility for their hybrid and modern workforces, streamlining the process of collaborating and sharing files within the application they are using.

“Since Egnyte’s inception, we’ve provided customers ways to work smarter and more efficiently with the tools they are most accustomed to,” said Rajesh Ram, Co-Founder and Chief Growth Officer at Egnyte. “Egnyte’s relationship with Microsoft allows us to bring our customers more flexibility for today’s hybrid work environment while simultaneously saving their real-time work in the Egnyte domain.”

As part of Microsoft's Cloud Storage Partner Program Plus, Egnyte now supports customers with the capability to collaboratively edit documents in real-time, an enhancement to its existing integration with Microsoft 365. This feature allows users within the same Egnyte account to collaborate seamlessly on Microsoft Word, Excel or PowerPoint documents, whether in the Office desktop or web environment.

“The Cloud Storage Partner Program gives partners, like Egnyte, the ability to build integrations with our solutions,” said Boris Feldman, Principal Program Manager at Microsoft. “With users now having another option to collaborate on documents, whether they are stored in Microsoft or Egnyte, we are delivering a solution that works for evolving customer needs.”

Additionally, customers can now set Egnyte as their default file storage location for all files uploaded and shared through the Teams app, facilitating easy file search, browsing, uploading and sharing, thus enabling collaboration in the most convenient manner.

“It is important that our customers can collaborate in ways that are most convenient for them,” said Feldman.

The Microsoft co-editing feature for Microsoft 365 desktop applications is already available and being gradually rolled out to all Egnyte customer domains, including newly signed contracts, while the Teams integration is presently in limited availability, with full availability expected in the near future.
