A sluggish or unreliable user experience hinders productivity and creates unnecessary frustration. (Let's face it, we all know this.) Therefore, IT teams are tasked with creating a smooth digital experience for a global workforce, which are reliant on cloud-based tools and applications.
Managing this complex ecosystem requires constant monitoring, analysis and troubleshooting. However, traditional methods are time-consuming and inefficient. IT teams are often overloaded with sifting through mountains of data to pinpoint the root cause of performance issues.
Zscaler, a cloud security provider, is set to address this with a trio of advancements to its Zscaler Digital Experience service: ZDX Copilot, Hosted Monitoring and Data Explorer.
“As organizations adopt zero trust architectures, siloed monitoring tools lose visibility across the data path,” said Dhawal Sharma, Senior Vice President and General Manager at Zscaler. “ZDX reinstates end-to-end visibility across devices, networks and applications."
ZDX Copilot, an AI-powered assistant, analyzes vast amounts of data, over 500 trillion data points daily, on users and, as Sharma stated, devices, networks and applications. IT operation, service desk and security teams interact with Copilot through natural language queries to gain insights into digital experience and performance. Copilot analyzes trends and progressively narrow down results to pinpoint specific issues.
For example, service desk teams can use Copilot to quickly identify the root cause of user complaints. This allows them to resolve issues faster and collaborate effectively with other teams. Networking teams can conduct in-depth analyses across networks, applications and regions to discover trends and optimization opportunities.
Security teams can leverage Copilot to make sure service performance is up to speed as well as rapidly identify the source of problems that affect user experience. As for IT leaders, they can use Copilot to extract and present data on digital experience trends to measure progress or identify new areas for improvement. ZDX Copilot can even automate routine tasks like setting alerts.
“Using ZDX Copilot, IT teams such as service desk and IT operations can achieve operational excellence by instantly accessing insights drawn from trillions of performance metrics using GenAI to easily analyze IT issues, and to work collaboratively with speed and accuracy,” said Sharma.
Zscaler also announced the early availability of ZDX Hosted Monitoring. This service provides IT operations teams with continuous monitoring of application and service availability and performance. ZDX Hosted Monitoring leverages Zscaler’s globally distributed cloud infrastructure to offer:
- Assurance of optimal performance for external websites, regardless of user location
- Monitoring of service level agreements for applications and services from various providers, including SaaS, cloud, data center and network providers
- Support for confident application rollouts and regional expansions as businesses grow
“With this release, Hosted Monitoring extends 24/7 monitoring to SaaS and external websites from several global locations,” Sharma added.
ZDX also introduced Data Explorer, which enables IT teams and leaders to easily build and share customized reports that visually correlate data drawn from diverse datasets.
The combination of the three allows IT teams to proactively manage digital experience and optimize user productivity.
