AI is changing the way we work. It impacts everything from how decisions are made to how meetings are scheduled. As a result, we live in a world where automation and human ingenuity work hand-in-hand to create a more efficient and productive work environment.
One example is Palo Alto Networks having AI and cybersecurity meet. However, that’s not all that’s been in the news about how AI continues to contribute to what the future of work has in store for all of us. So, let’s get into it:
AI Maturity on the Rise: Businesses Invest More and See Results
A new report by LXT finds businesses are making significant strides in AI adoption. Nearly three-quarters of surveyed companies report reaching higher levels of AI maturity, with many integrating AI into production for value creation.
Investment in AI is also increasing, with half of organizations allocating $1 million to $5 million annually, and over 10% spending between $50 million and $500 million. Generative AI, which can create content and improve decision-making, is seen as a top priority by nearly 70% of respondents.
Adobe and Microsoft Team Up to Streamline Workflows
Adobe and Microsoft are collaborating to integrate marketing tools within Microsoft 365 to improve efficiency for marketing professionals. This integration will provide marketers with access to relevant insights and campaign data directly within applications like Outlook, Teams and Word. The goal is to eliminate data silos and streamline workflows, and allow marketers to create content, manage approvals and track results more effectively.
Social Engineering Attacks on the Rise, AI Used by Both Sides
A new report by ReliaQuest highlights the growing threat of social engineering cyberattacks, with criminals using new methods like AI-powered phishing and deepfakes.
Phishing attacks remain the most common tactic, with QR code phishing seeing a sharp rise. Criminals are also exploiting user interaction to gain initial access.
However, the report also finds AI is being used defensively by organizations to improve response times to threats. Customers using AI and automation saw a reduction in mean time to respond.
Businesses Prioritize Orchestration and Self-Service
Stonebranch's latest IT automation report showed key trends in the field.
Businesses increasingly look to orchestrate automation across complex IT environments, with many planning to replace or add new tools. Self-service automation for end-users is another growing trend, with 88% of respondents offering such access.
However, hybrid IT environments, combining on-premises and cloud infrastructure, are becoming more common, posing challenges for automation management.
Smart Meetings App Uses AI to Eliminate Scheduling Hassle
Reclaim.ai launched Smart Meetings, an AI-powered calendar app that automates scheduling and rescheduling. The app considers factors like time zones, availability and priorities to find optimal meeting times for remote, in-person and hybrid teams.
Smart Meetings aims to address the time-consuming issue of scheduling conflicts, which research shows costs businesses thousands of dollars per employee annually.
The future of work is about getting the most out of AI to help us. By embracing these advancements and equipping ourselves with the right skillsets, we can build a future where technology enhances our capabilities and unlocks new possibilities for a more productive work experience.
