To Combat 'Imminently Solvable' Challenges, Scamnetic Launches New Detection Solution, Powered by AI

By

Back in June over on MSP Today, our team published an article about Scamnetic, an early-stage startup on a mission to help consumers evade scammers and the damages – both financial and reputational – they unfortunately sow. The article detailed my interview with Al Pascual, Scamnetic’s CEO. The conversation we shared broadly covered the modern security space, Pascual’s professional journey, the genesis of Scamnetic, and what the startup brings to the table for consumers so a.) they don’t need to become full-blown scam experts on their own, and b.) they can access a 24/7 line-of-sight solution that keeps them clear from bad actors’ tactics. It was great dive, if you ask me; read it in full here.

The team at Scamnetic knows what’s at stake and sees the current threat landscape with a no-blinders-up view. Threats are what they are, and swift action is a must. As Scamnetic co-founder John Evans has also described in his own words, “Globally, consumers and businesses alike are so far behind the bad actors regarding protection, threat detection, and the ability to combat these crimes quickly. Our mission is to promptly safeguard all digital interactions and get on a level playing field with the scammers; as they develop new tactics, so do we.”

So, where’s that bring us to today?

Well, just yesterday Scamnetic officially launched its AI-powered, scam-detecting solution that weeds out deepfake video and audio across any channel in real time. This patented AI resource can reportedly be integrated with ease into enterprise platforms, allowing service providers and other future-of-safer-work-minded teams become bona fide stewards of consumer safety.

Placing your trust in Scamnetic avails the following:

  • Scan&Score, which automatically scans email and text messages (along with QR codes, links, physical mail and images) to understand the risk from any incoming communication.
  • IDeveryone, which verifies the identity of any counterparty using advanced but easy-to-access technology, enabling users to know exactly with whom they interact. (i.e. whether by video, audio or text) IDeveryone combats dating scams, Facebook marketing scams, crypto scams, land investment scams and much more.
  • Scam intervention: Overall, Scamnetic experts work tirelessly to restore assets and peace of mind for scam victims. Scamnetic offers 24/7 support, helping consumers who may be in the throes of a scam, guiding victims to recovery and helping them reclaim control over their digital life.

Matt O’Neill, former Deputy Special Agent in charge of cyber efforts for the U.S. Secret Service, has stated how “If this product were available earlier, it would have cut down on the number of cases we saw by 85% or 90%.”

Donna Turner, former Chief Operating Officer for Early Warning Services/Zelle, shared a similar testimony. “Scamnetic’s solution is so timely,” she explained, “and since scams are among the top challenges for financial institutions globally, this is very much needed.”

Let’s wrap this up with whom it started – Scamnetic CEO Al Pascual.

“Consumers worldwide are experiencing record losses, with an alarming year-over-year increase,” Pascual said. “Scammers are leveraging artificial intelligence to carry out sophisticated criminal activities that evade human detection. The industry has responded with educational efforts, warning customers to ‘watch out for this’ or ‘we will never ask you for that,’ and cautioning against clicking suspicious links. Unfortunately, these measures are insufficient. While bad actors employ advanced AI tactics, the good actors rely on basic education. It's a David versus Goliath battle, and the time to fight back has arrived.”
