Happy Tuesday, Future of Work readers.
Today, let’s talk about Mio, Onix, and Google Workspace.
Several years back, Mio’s founders (Tom Hadfield and James Cundle) recognized the need for cross-platform collaboration capabilities as team chat applications made huge leaps, popularity-wise. (This was even before the COVID-19 pandemic.) Large enterprises were increasingly finding themselves juggling messaging apps for internal communications, leading to chat interoperability issues. Since then, Mio has supported interoperability via workplace solutions involving identity management, file sharing, meeting initiation and more. (Mio also recently secured $17 million in funding, with investments rolling in from the likes of Cisco, Zoom, and Khosla Ventures.)
Onix, on the other hand, is an IP-based services company on a mission to maximize enterprise value via the cloud, data, and AI. Onix currently boasts 50% lower costs and two times faster migration and modernization than many competitors, reportedly with 500 trillion records validated in the last 12 months. (Tough to even conceive colossal figures like that, but here we are.) Overall, Onix knows firsthand how running a business in today’s digital world demands the ability to make flexible shifts as already-dynamic technologies evolve further. Founded back in 1992, Onix today has thousands of global team members that help elevate its customers’ experiences when it comes to automation, collaboration, and productivity.
And just yesterday, Mio and Onix announced their new partnership.
The goal of it?
“To greatly bolster Mio’s comprehensive cross-platform capabilities with Onix’s cloud-based solutions, as well as for users of Google Workspace,” according to the official announcement. (i.e. Onix already has a strategic working partnership with Google Cloud)
Google Workspace, at this point, is basically synonymous with concepts mentioned above; collaborating, staying highly productive, and so on. Formerly referred to as G Suite, Google Workspace plans provide custom business emails and include tools like Gmail, Calendar, Meet, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Gemini and more. All plans also feature a 14-day trial, so users can test it out before signing up.
Now, courtesy of Mio and Onix, more users get the best of all three worlds here, as described by Mio’s Tom Hadfield.
“Effective communication across various platforms is essential for organizations that rely on diverse tools for their operational needs,” Hadfield laid out. “Partnering with Onix enables us to enhance our offerings and provide even more proven solutions that meet organizations’ unique requirements today.”
George Shihadeh, Global Sales Director of Workplace Collaboration at Onix, also commented.
“We are so thrilled to partner with Mio to advance the capabilities of interoperability across major collaboration platforms like Google Workspace,” Shihadeh said. “Together, we are set to innovate further and create solutions that ensure fluid, intuitive workplace communications, irrespective of the underlying technologies used by organizations.”
