Quanergy Teams with Milexia for AI-driven LiDAR Solutions in EU Markets

By

LiDAR (Light Detecting and Ranging) technology is most widely known for its use in autonomous vehicles.  The technology essentially work by sending out light pulses that reflect off physical objects, with the time it takes for those pulses to return being used to develop accurate 3D spatial renderings that can be leveraged in many use cases.  With a very high pulse rate, LiDAR systems can create not only 3D images, but can develop accurate representations of location, movement and directionality of people and objects.

LiDAR solutions, such as the ones Quanergy has been developing since 2012 are already being used in applications across several markets, including smart cities, physical security, mapping, industrial automation, and transportation.  Now, as governments across the world start to roll back some of the COVID-19 restrictions that have been in place for three months, the same technology can be used to monitor and track occupancy, movement, and body temperature in buildings, public spaces, and other areas, to help ensure compliance with ongoing safety protocols.

Today, Quanergy has announced a partnership with RF and microwave component distributor Milexia, as it Quanergy builds out its global presence and introduces its AI-driven LiDAR applications to new business and markets where the solutions can help solve real operational challenges.

“LiDAR sensing technology is critical for various advanced applications requiring spatial location and depth information to identify, classify, and track moving objects,” said Mitia Cugusi, Managing Director, Milexia Italia.  “Quanergy offers a unique combination of solid state products with a high performance of electromechanical devices to advance the commercialization of these key technologies and bring increased accuracy and reliability to various advanced applications.”

This is the first LiDAR partnership for Milexia, which will be offering Quanergy’s technology to its customers in across several industries and applications, including industrial automation, mapping, and autonomous vehicles.  Milexia will include Quanergy’s LiDAR portfolio within two of its solution lines:

  • The Components & Systems Division –  A complete catalog of components and sub-systems for radio frequency and microwave applications, and
  • The Power & Electro-Mechanics Division – Offering power supplies, electromechanical solutions, sensors, man-to-machine interface products for various markets with special focus on industrial, medical, defense and aerospace.
By providing actionable insights to organizations across major industries, Quanergy is enabling its partners and their customers to optimize their operations.  Miami International Airport, for instance, is using Quanergy’s Flow Management platform to support better security checkpoint management, and coupled with social distancing software, to effectively enforce safety protocols within the facility.

The latest trends in customer engagement and experience, including automation, AI, and messaging/communication tools, and how Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning can benefit organizations and their communities of customers and users, is the crux of Future of Work Expo 2021.  Taking place at the brand new Miami Beach Convention Center, June 22-25, 2021 as part of the #TechSuperShow. Future of Work will again sit beside its collocated events – ITEXPO, SD-WAN Expo, MSP Expo, IoT Evolution, The Blockchain Event, and more – to deliver a compete learning and networking opportunity for business leaders who need to know what new technologies will drive their companies into the future - inlcuding how they can adjust to the new normal.
