Moveworks' AI Streamlines Employee Onboarding for Starburst

By

AI has made a lasting mark on so many diverse industries and continues to rise as a top technology consideration today. This is thanks to its ability to add automation and intelligence to applications and processes.

For businesses looking to streamline HR practices, AI is making tremendous strides in terms of issue resolution and efficient onboarding.

Recently, Moveworks, a conversational AI platform, was chosen by analytics engine Starburst to improve its onboarding experience as it was experiencing rapid growth. The technology was able to help the company quickly get new employees onboarded. In just one month, the company said an average of 50% autonomous IT and HR issue resolutions with 62% of employees using the bot for all their support issues.

“Effective onboarding increases productivity, accelerates employees’ time to value, and increases operational efficiency in the long run,” said Bhavin Shah, CEO of Moveworks. “When it comes to hyper-growth companies, like Starburst, these are all critical factors in maintaining and increasing momentum.

Starburst saw a 122% YoY customer growth with 61% YoY employee growth in Q2 of this year.  The company strives to provide each new employee with a smooth process to get up and running without placing a heavy strain on their HR and IT departments. With Moveworks it has been able to scale employee support using AI.

All new Starburst employees will now get one central location for all of their support needs in their preferred language. That means anytime they have an IT issue or an HR-related question, the Moveworks bot receives their message in Slack and either automatically resolves it or routes them to the appropriate contact for support.

Also directly through slack, on the internal end of things, Moveworks will also provide automated workflows. It will automatically reset passwords, provision software, send out policy updates, update permissions, request or troubleshoot hardware, and look up people or places.

“Successful onboarding isn’t as simple as getting someone up and running on week one. It’s getting them answers to their most critical questions throughout their entire onboarding experience — which can take up to a year. At the rate we’re growing, it’s just not possible to provide that same quality support experience without the help of a sophisticated AI platform like Moveworks,” said Kevin Smith, Director of Information Technology at Starburst.
