Glean Launches AI-Driven Solution for Centralizing and Automating Workforce Knowledge

By

Where is your workplace’s most valuable knowledge base? Is it written in books and guides that are seldom read? Is it in the minds of the more veteran workers? Is it in an FAQ list that hasn’t been updated in five years? How are employees adding new information to this knowledge base?

Most workplaces have a culture of workflow and efficiency, and they’re increasingly looking for ways to put this information at the disposal of the workers who need it.

Enter artificial intelligence (AI) and how it helps disseminate the right information to the right people, and at the right time.

Palo, Alto, California-based Glean recently announced Glean Chat, a generative AI assistant that supercharges workplace productivity by enabling users to answer questions, analyze and synthesize information, and create new insights that are sourced exclusively from up-to-date, relevant information across their company’s knowledge base. Glean Chat is grounded in Glean’s knowledge model to ensure high levels of accuracy, security and personalization. The company calls it “the first solution that safely and reliably delivers the power of conversational AI to the enterprise.”

The Glean Chat solution was designed to automate the work of sifting through documents, conversations and applications across the enterprise — analyzing, extracting and synthesizing information to create useful summaries and insights. Glean Chat works across all of a company’s applications and knowledge sources, including Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Salesforce, Jira, GitHub and nearly 100 more applications, so employees can get a summary of a project team’s progress and conversations, find the status and chatter around a customer deal, or surface product feedback from hundreds of sales calls, all in one place.

"Business leaders have seen the power of ChatGPT in the consumer arena and are eager to harness its potential to dramatically improve productivity and performance in the workplace,” said Arvind Jain, CEO of Glean. “But enterprise data is complicated and different from the data on the public Internet and there have been serious obstacles to overcome, including the risks of hallucination and data leakage. Glean is the only company that has solved how to bring your enterprise knowledge together with the reasoning power of LLMs to deliver an accurate, secure conversational AI experience at work.”
