Varonis Systems, a provider of data security solutions, announced the Varonis for Microsoft 365 Copilot to its offerings. This purpose-built solution will help safeguard Microsoft's AI-driven productivity tool both pre- and post-deployment.
In a world increasingly reliant on AI-powered tools for productivity gains, Varonis addresses a critical need for enhanced security measures. Even with all the potential that AI holds for efficiency gains, it also poses risks of unintentional data exposure to employees and exploitation by cybercriminals as well as insider threats.
Varonis for Microsoft 365 Copilot provides a suite of features designed to mitigate these risks and fortify data security. This includes real-time monitoring of Copilot data access, detection of abnormal interactions, and automated restriction of sensitive data accessibility for both human users and AI agents.
Other features in the Microsoft 365 Copilot offering include Copilot posture dashboards for comprehensive visibility into sensitive data exposure, policy automation to enforce security measures, monitoring, and forensics capabilities for insights into Copilot activity, and threat detection powered by Varonis' user behavior analysis engine. Integration with Athena AI also facilitates seamless investigation and resolution of Copilot-related security incidents.
"Strong data security posture is necessary to roll out Copilot safely," said Varonis EVP of Engineering and Chief Technology Officer David Bass. "However, once you deploy, you need ongoing visibility into what Copilot is doing, what sensitive data it's accessing, and the ability to detect abnormal behavior and policy violations in real-time. Varonis for Microsoft 365 Copilot does that."
Organizations looking to bolster their AI security posture can leverage Varonis' expertise through a free Microsoft 365 Copilot readiness assessment or start a trial directly from Azure Marketplace.
