Asana, an AI-powered work management platform, announced Asana AI Teammates. The innovative, adaptable AI collaborators are designed to help teams maximize their impact and achieve goals quickly.
With a high degree of customization, AI teammates can advise on priorities, streamline workflows, and even execute tasks, all while adapting to the unique working styles of individuals and teams.
Currently in beta, Asana AI Teammates leverages the company’s Work Graph data model, which offers an ideal structure for scaling AI within organizations. It connects tasks and workflows to higher-level company objectives, providing context and rules of engagement that other AI solutions often lack.
Key features of Asana AI Teammates includes:
- Advisory Role: Help teams focus by surfacing insights about potential risks to achieving goals.
- Workflow Automation: Manage tasks, triage requests, and assign work at scale, significantly enhancing productivity.
- Adaptability: Identify and suggest improvements for broken workflows, informed by organizational best practices.
“The future of work is about combining humans and AI to work together effortlessly - this is the way to drive productivity and innovation gains that bring value to the bottom line,” says Dustin Moskovitz, co-founder and CEO at Asana. “We’re able to do this better than anyone else because we built Asana on the Work Graph, which provides the necessary structure to link work and workflows to organizational goals. This is what makes AI teammates highly effective coworkers.”
One leading outdoor advertising company is already reporting success using AI teammates to overhaul its creative request process, allowing the team to focus more on creative flow and design. AI teammates triage incoming requests, gather necessary information, assign tasks based on context, assist with initial client research, and improve reporting consistency.
Another global cybersecurity firm also said it is using AI teammates to expedite marketing campaign projects. The AI helps by crafting on-brand content, translating materials using a library of brand terms, highlighting key request information for prioritization, and enforcing naming conventions for better tool compatibility.
Asana has also introduced a new AI chat interface, set to launch this month. This feature offers intelligent conversational assistance, allowing users to ask questions like, “What blockers are putting this goal at risk?” or “Who at my company knows about this topic?” The AI teammate can help create plans and assign work with human oversight, further streamlining the workflow process.
“Research is already showing us that 89% of workers who use AI on a daily basis experience productivity gains,” says Alex Hood, Chief Product Officer at Asana. “Pairing humans with AI has dramatically boosted our collective productivity. Customers are thrilled, and we're uncovering endless new use cases as people delegate tasks to their Asana AI teammates, freeing them to focus on high-impact work.”
