Riverbed and Intel Collaborate to Deliver Real-Time Visibility into Connected Devices

By

Intel-powered laptops and desktops are a cornerstone of modern enterprise work because they drive productivity across a wide range of industries. The ubiquitous nature of Intel Thunderbolt and Wi-Fi technologies has only solidified their role in high-performance computing. From data-intensive workflows to daily office tasks and remote work, these technologies are essential for connecting peripherals like keyboards, monitors, storage and cameras.

With that said, while many organizations use end-user device management tools to monitor the performance of laptops and PCs, a critical gap remains in their ability to gain real-time insights into the connected devices themselves. Intel Thunderbolt and Wi-Fi technologies, though crucial for high-performance computing, often operate in a blind spot for IT teams. This lack of visibility takes a toll on troubleshooting efforts, impacts user experience and potentially leads to productivity losses.

Riverbed, a provider of AI observability solutions, has a solution to counter that. Riverbed Aternity for Intel Thunderbolt and Wi-Fi is a new solution that combines observability into connected devices configured with Intel Thunderbolt and Intel Wi-Fi technologies.

"With this innovation, we’re addressing the “black box” effect where IT is left guessing and relying on manual troubleshooting,” said Dave Donatelli, CEO of Riverbed. “This co-developed solution furthers Riverbed’s market-leading AI-powered Digital Experience Platform, which provides full-fidelity observability data across the entire IT landscape."

Riverbed’s M.O. is to help businesses deliver exceptional user experiences. With decades of expertise in data analysis and machine learning, Riverbed's platform proactively identifies and resolves IT issues. Their solutions, trusted by top global organizations, not only enhance digital experiences but also streamline IT processes, to deliver tangible benefits to businesses of all sizes.

Riverbed Aternity’s new module, powered by Intel Connectivity Analytics SDK, provides in-depth analysis of Intel Thunderbolt and Wi-Fi performance on employee devices. By combining this data with Riverbed Aternity’s End User Experience solution, organizations gain enhanced Digital Employee Experience capabilities.

The module offers a suite of advanced analytics and automation tools, including intuitive dashboards for real-time monitoring and pre-built remediations for common issues. The result is quicker resolution times and improved user satisfaction.

“By integrating Intel Connectivity Analytics technology with Riverbed's analytics and telemetry, we’re enhancing observability and changing the way organizations manage performance for devices with Intel Thunderbolt and Wi-Fi technologies,” said Eric McLaughlin, Vice President and General Manager of the Connectivity Solutions Group at Intel. “Together, we are empowering IT teams with the insights they need to optimize digital experiences, quickly resolve issues before they impact end users, and better navigate the complexities of modern digital environments.”

The Aternity for Intel Thunderbolt and Wi-Fi solution will be available on a limited basis in Q4 2024, with general availability in Q1 2025.
