As hybrid work models increasingly become the norm, ensuring secure access to applications and data across managed and unmanaged devices has become critical. Citrix, a unit of Cloud Software Group, Inc., is tackling this issue head-on with the acquisitions of deviceTRUST GmbH and The Strong Network. These strategic purchases will bolster security offerings, enabling enhanced protection for hybrid environments while improving developer workflows.
Integrating deviceTRUST technology into the Citrix platform offers real-time contextual access controls for Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) and Desktop-as-a-Service (DaaS) environments. This allows organizations to monitor device posture and user location as well as grant or revoke access based on current security conditions.
The Strong Network platform enhances secure cloud development environments, offering businesses a way to streamline the development and deployment of critical applications.
Designed to prevent data breaches, it incorporates advanced features like data loss prevention and patented data infiltration detection to guard against phishing, malware, and credential theft. Built for BYOD setups, Strong Network also ensures compliance with stringent security standards, including NIST and ISO, while delivering end-to-end visibility and control throughout the application lifecycle.
Citrix said it is also extending its Citrix Secure Private Access capabilities, simplifying secure access management for hybrid environments. Customers will benefit from the flexibility of cloud management paired with the resilience of on-premises infrastructure.
“As businesses continue to evolve to support hybrid work, the demand for cyber resilience has only intensified,” said Sridhar Mullapudi, executive vice president and general manager, Citrix. “We are proud to welcome the deviceTRUST and Strong Network teams to the Citrix family. By integrating their secure access technologies into the Citrix platform, we’re providing greater value for our customers and helping them meet the diverse needs of their users.”
