Lumen Solutions for Microsoft Teams Focuses on Continuity and Agility

By

Lumen Technologies, an affiliate of CenturyLink, has announced Lumen Solutions for Microsoft Teams. The new offering is a managed, unified communications solution designed to improve worker productivity, customer support and business agility.

The new solution is based on Lumen's secure platform for applications and data. The company manages 450,000 fiber miles and serves customers in more than 60 countries. It is designed to provide businesses and government agencies with remote collaboration, business continuity  and unified communications capabilities.

The offering grew out of the communications and continuity demands created by the COVID-19 pandemic. As more businesses focused on maintaining continuity, facilitating communications and providing excellent customer service, they created a shift toward collaboration that has remained in place as the world slowly returns to normal.

"Few businesses were ready for the challenges imposed by the global public health crisis," said Craig Richter, senior director of product management at Lumen. "With Lumen Solutions for Microsoft Teams, businesses can easily adopt 'work from anywhere' policies because Lumen takes on the burden of managing the complex calling and collaboration tools that make remote work possible. Delivering one of the world's most popular unified communications solutions over the Lumen platform gives customers access to a secure global network and a fast, secure platform for applications and data."

Lumen Solutions for Microsoft Teams combines the calling and collaboration tools available in Teams with Lumen's expertise. Lumen offers a managed user experience including advanced reporting and analytics, ensuring businesses can provide continuity and excellent customer service and support.

"Offerings like Lumen Solutions for Microsoft Teams, which leverage Microsoft technology to adapt to a changing workplace, continue to evolve to meet the needs of the customers they serve," said Daniel Canning, director, Microsoft Teams Platform. "We're pleased that Lumen is extending the capabilities of Teams at a time when remote work is of such critical importance."
