Box Enhances Zoom App, Adds Automatic Recording Storage

By

Today’s modern workforce has seen a number of dynamic shifts in recent years. Many were already starting and were accelerated by the global pandemic and workplace shutdowns. Now, with new workforce models in place, a combination of hybrid, remote and in-person employees all depend on technology for collaboration and data storage more than ever before.

To assist in making this process more seamless and helping workers to boost productivity, Box, is a content cloud where everyone can work together while having peace of mind that content remains secure. The company announced it is further strengthening its partnership with Zoom with the general availability of an enhanced Box app for Zoom that makes it possible to automatically save select Zoom recordings directly to Box with a simple button toggle.

Not surprisingly, the new feature is one of the most frequently requested enhancements from Zoom and Box users.

“At Box, we continuously strive to improve our integrations with third-party apps so our users can work smarter, with less clicking and context switching between various platforms, and admins can keep sensitive content unified within one secure platform,” said Diego Dugatkin, Chief Product Officer at Box.

To help reduce the number of applications workers are toggling between while working and address the pain point for business apps when content is not available in one place, the enhanced Box app for Zoom removes complexities while preserving security, compliance and governance.

"We’re thrilled to be strengthening our partnership with Box by deepening the interoperability between our two platforms,” said Arun Janakiraman, Lead Product Manager of Zoom Apps. "With these new enhancements, joint customers have the ability to record and save Zoom Meetings directly in Box, while also allowing Box to be the default content layer for all Zoom Team Chat channels. These continued updates help customers decide how to keep content secure, while making teamwork more streamlined and simplifying the overall experience.”
