Mitel Positioned for Leadership in Hybrid Cloud Business Communications in 2025

By

As the global demand for secure and flexible hybrid cloud communication solutions rises, officials at Mitel announced the company is entering 2025 as a key player ready to capitalize on the growing trend.

With a user base exceeding 70 million, which was bolstered by the acquisition of Unify, the company achieved milestones that position it as a leader in enterprise business communications.

Over the past year alone, it launched the Common Communications Framework, which allows organizations to maintain a unified communications experience regardless of deployment model.

It also strengthened its portfolio with AI-driven capabilities, announcing a strategic partnership with Zoom to deliver AI-first hybrid collaboration tools. The soon-to-be-released Mitel CX platform leverages generative AI (GenAI) to enhance customer engagement and workforce productivity.

Additionally, Mitel expanded its Virtual Care Collaboration Service (VCCS) to deliver secure, efficient telehealth solutions for healthcare providers.

Other solutions it released tailored to diverse industries include:

  • Mitel Interaction Recording (MIR) Insights AI, which delivers deep customer insights through powerful analytics.
  • The Mitel Secure Cloud, catering to enterprises in highly regulated industries in the UK and Germany, with plans for global rollout.
  • A Critical Event Management (CEM) solution, streamlining emergency response and operational recovery processes.

Strategic leadership appointments also boosted its position. Key hires included David Petts as Chief Sales Officer and Eric Hanson as Chief Marketing Officer, while Bill Dunnion joined as Chief Information Security Officer.

“Together with our partners and employees, Mitel has accomplished an incredible amount this year,” said Mitel President and CEO Tarun Loomba. “As we prepare for 2025, I am excited by the significant opportunities before us, particularly the surge in demand for hybrid communications solutions. We are playing from a position of strength with a portfolio designed to provide the flexibility and choice required to support workers on the frontline and into the office, meeting the demands of enterprise organizations globally. Our partnership with Zoom and the launch of Mitel CX also demonstrates our capability to deliver innovative solutions that drive value for our customers and partners while further propelling us toward our goal to be the global leader in UC.”
